Omer Awan, MD, MPH
Omer Awan, MD, MPH, is vice chair and associate program director for the diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. He earned his MD from the George Washington University School of Medicine and his master’s in public health from Harvard University. He has expertise in radiology, education, and public health.
Awan is a frequent invited speaker at national and international radiology conferences, as well as national public health conferences like the Milken Institute Future of Health Summit. He also holds a faculty position with Harvard Macy Institute, and in 2022, PubMed named him a World Expert in Teaching.
Awan is a senior public health contributor for Forbes. Awan’s ľֱ column, “Ask the Program Director,” addresses medical student and resident questions about residency.
