Lawrence O. Gostin, JD, LLD (Hon), is Distinguished University Professor, Georgetown University鈥檚 highest academic rank, and Founding O鈥橬eill Chair in Global Health Law. He directs the World Health Organization Center on National and Global Health Law, and serves on high-level WHO expert committees. A member of the National Academy of Medicine, he was awarded the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. President Obama appointed Gostin to a 6-year term on the President鈥檚 National Cancer Advisory Board in 2016.
